BCLC runs the legal online-casino cashier in British Columbia. PlayNow is that Crown product, 19+. There is no private-operator market in B.C. An Ontario iGO registration and an Alberta AGLC registration are different provinces. Grey-market sites ranked elsewhere as “BC casinos” are not legal substitutes. Read the PlayNow review and are online casinos legal in British Columbia.
The Province’s page on gambling in B.C., last updated 13 April 2026, says gambling is legal only when the provincial government runs it. BCLC manages commercial gambling, including online gambling. That page names PlayNow.com as the only legal online gambling site in B.C., and the legal age as 19. There is no second legal site, and no new private market. BCLC’s eGaming FAQ states the federal rule it works under: only the province, or an agent of the province, may run gaming on a computer. British Columbia gave that job to BCLC. An offshore company is not that agent, and it is not licensed in B.C. A Curaçao or Kahnawake footer, an Ontario iGO registration, and an Alberta AGLC registration are not B.C. licences.
To play, you open a BCLC account and you use it while you are physically in British Columbia. The Player Agreement BCLC posts is dated 15 May 2024, and BCLC can change it. You need to be 19 or older and live in B.C. You cannot place a bet while you are outside the province. If you move away, close the account. You get one account, for yourself, and you cannot share the login. You cannot register if you are already in Game Break. BCLC can refuse, suspend, or close an account.
The Independent Gambling Control Office regulates gambling in B.C. The government page says the old Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch became the IGCO when the Gaming Control Act took effect on 13 April 2026. There is no private-operator list to join. A complaint about an offshore site does not go to BCLC, and that site does not have to offer PlayNow’s GameSense tools. PlayNow’s About page says its profits go back to the province. The government page says gambling revenue supports health care, education, public safety, and social programs, and that Community Gaming Grants fund non-profits.
PlayNow’s About page describes what you can play. The casino has slots, instants, table games, and jackpots, and the page says new games are added weekly. Live casino is dealers on a live stream. That is still PlayNow, not a separate offshore studio. Lottery includes Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49. Sports covers live events, specials, and pools. Poker covers cash tournaments, sit-and-go tournaments, and high-hand jackpots. Bingo includes the Moonlight Diamonds and Stardust rooms, plus shorter bingo games. BCLC’s eGaming FAQ also lists keno. BCLC can limit or remove games without notice. This page does not publish a game count.
The table is Trust Gauge, not welcome bonus. Best means the highest Gauge among legal B.C. files, and the Crown site comes first. Rank is never sold. Sixty is the visit-link rail: a hop may attach at 60+. A high Gauge is not advice to deposit and not a second licence. Confirm PlayNow before you deposit. The method is the seven pillars. GameSense is the provincial RG frame.
If you are in Ontario, use the iGO desk. Alberta is AGLC, 18+. Quebec is Espacejeux, 18+. The Canada desk and the Trust Gauge index cover other files. A rest-of-Canada hop is not a B.C. licence.
It is also not a list of offshore casinos. On this desk, the place to play is the legal cashier, PlayNow. You can use the PlayNow website or BCLC’s PlayNow apps. Another company’s app is not that product.
Open the Crown site yourself. Match the URL and the brand name to PlayNow run by BCLC. A private operator ranked on an Ontario or Alberta desk is a different province. A footer seal, a welcome offer, and an Interac logo are not a B.C. licence. Age is 19+ in British Columbia. Do not use a VPN to look like you are elsewhere.
You have to register before you can play. That registration is how age and B.C. residency are checked. BCLC’s player privacy statement says a credit-file look-up used to register you is for identity verification only, not a credit check, and that it does not affect your credit rating or credit score. BCLC can ask for more documents later. Open playnow.com and match the brand to British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The Province’s description of the rule is on Gambling in B.C..
GameSense is the provincial responsible-gambling frame for legal B.C. play. Time-outs, deposit limits, and self-exclusion live on the Crown account tools — not on a ranking page. TrustFacts publishes scores. We cannot freeze an account or enrol you in a provincial programme. If gambling is causing harm, use the GameSense help channels listed on the Crown site and on our support resources guide.
On the PlayNow account, under My Budgets, the GameSense page describes a weekly deposit limit and a loss limit for casino, poker, and bingo. Lottery and sports losses are not tracked. A decrease applies immediately. An increase, or turning the loss limit off, waits 24 hours. At the limit you cannot wager with cash, tokens, or held funds until reset: midnight Pacific Time for a daily limit, Sunday midnight Pacific Time for a weekly limit, and midnight Pacific Time on the last day of the month for a monthly limit. A daily or weekly time cap is separate. Poker does not count toward it and has its own limits in the poker client. An hourly reminder asks you to take a break. PlayNow says that reminder does not log you out. A short-term lockout runs from 24 hours to 90 days and does not apply to poker.
Provincial rules in force since 13 April 2026 sit under those account tools. PlayNow has to show an hourly reminder that stays on screen until you close it. It cannot sign you up for automatic repeating transfers into your account. Each game is rated low, medium, or high risk, and a high-risk game has to say so. You should not be able to split the screen and play two online slots at once. If a game lets you bet again and again, you take an action for each bet. Selling a lottery ticket is the exception. If the account screen and the rule differ, follow what the account shows and the current rule.
Game Break is BCLC’s voluntary self-exclusion program. The Player Agreement describes it as a stop on PlayNow play, including if you enrol at a B.C. casino. BCLC may close the account and pay out the cash that is left. Tokens are not paid out. The law requires a program for the length of time you agree to, covering both PlayNow and provincial gaming facilities. This page does not give a length, because the agreement you sign is the length. If you need help, PlayNow lists GameSense Advisors at 1-877-706-6789, from 7 a.m. to midnight Pacific Time, and on live chat. Gambling Support BC is 1-888-795-6111, 24 hours, run by the IGCO. Press 3 for the multilingual line. The Province says the service is free.
Interac is a payment rail, not a licence. A fast Interac withdrawal on a rest-of-Canada or offshore URL is still not legal B.C. play. Confirm rails and KYC clocks on the PlayNow cashier itself. Payments are 15 of 100 on the Trust Gauge — see the payments desk.
PlayNow’s deposit FAQ accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, Interac e-Transfer, online bill payment, and Web Cash. The card, Interac, PayPal, or bill payment has to be in your name, or you have to be an authorized user. Web Cash is a voucher sold at BCLC retailers. You have to play a Web Cash deposit at least once before you can withdraw it. A deposit can take up to 30 minutes. If the money leaves your bank or card and never shows up, allow 3 to 7 business days for it to come back. Some card issuers charge a cash-advance fee. BCLC does not charge that fee.
You cannot deposit more than your weekly deposit limit. On PlayNow’s deposit FAQ, you set that limit yourself, in $1 steps, up to $100,000. A lower limit starts right away. A higher one waits about 24 hours. BCLC’s corporate eGaming FAQ also says you can set a weekly transfer limit up to $100,000, and in a different answer it says the weekly maximum is $9,999. Those two answers do not match. The Player Agreement says BCLC sets the weekly limit and can change it without notice. Use the number on your account, not a number from this page.
A withdrawal goes to your own bank account by electronic transfer, and PlayNow asks for your occupation first. That is a federal anti-money-laundering check. The deposit FAQ names FINTRAC. Allow up to three business days for BCLC to process it, then about one business day for the bank. You can cancel all or part of a withdrawal that is still pending, until midnight Pacific Time that day. The Player Agreement says amounts under $25,000,000 are generally paid by direct deposit, and BCLC can instead send a cheque to a prize-payout location. Amounts of $25,000,000 or more are paid by wire. Money you deposited and did not play goes back to the original payment method. The PlayNow balance is not a bank account. It is not CDIC insured, and it does not earn interest. If the balance stays over BCLC’s account limit for more than 72 hours, BCLC may start a withdrawal for you. The agreement does not print that dollar limit, or a normal minimum or maximum withdrawal.
